- Created Backup and Recovery procedures using shell scripts and configured Net Backup (Veritas) software. Improved the database performance by planning and creating Partitioning of the tables, indexes for query based database and creating the bit mapped indexes for required columns this reduced query time from > 10 min to less than 1 to 2 min. Done lot of other SQL tuning’s during implementation of the e-commerce database where queries need to run less than 1 to 2 min.  Created locally managed tablespaces to reduce the i/o.
